Larissa contacted me about 7 weeks before her due date which is typically the optimal time for a maternity session. She expressed to me how much she desired to have maternity portraits taken and that time was of the essence as it was expected that her baby would be delivered early. So, at just over 33 weeks, we got together to document her beautiful pregnancy and the excitement both she and her husband shared in a sunset maternity photo session. I was equally excited during this session because my good friend, Brittany Griggs, from Brittany Lauren Creates was in town from North Carolina for a few weeks and joined me during this session to capture some behind the scenes video. What a delight for this sweet baby to see the love his or her parents have for them both in photos and behind the scenes video!
Before we began the maternity session, Larissa first visited the talented make up artist, Marisa Rios, at the Leiden Mitchell Salon in Downtown Ocotillo. Marisa and I have been working together for quite a while now and its so nice to have such talent on my studio team and to include this service with all of my maternity and high school senior sessions. Larisa was pampered with full make up application that left her skin glowing and her eyes sparkling.
Immediately following her make up appointment, Larissa arrived at my home studio to go through all of the gorgeous maternity wardrobe options I provide my maternity clients. She selected some of my absolute favorite custom designed maternity gowns but she also brought along with her the most stunning flowing, feminine, floral wrap gowns I’ve ever seen. This dress, coupled with her husband’s grey, pinstriped slacks and shoes made for one of the most well styled couples I’ve photographed to date. Their sunset maternity photo session is definitely one of my favorites and this Arizona sunset did not disappoint!
