Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions that may answer some of your questions.
Is the wardrobe included?
Yes, the wardrobe is included in your session fee retainer for full sessions. I have clothing available for your entire family and with sizes ranging from XS to XXL for mom and medium to XXL for dad. My studio wardrobe consists of very feminine, delicate, and timeless pieces that I have personally selected to reflect my style. 99% of the clothing seen throughout my website is from my studio wardrobe. I am constantly adding pieces to my collection, but if you see something that catches your eye, please mention it to me so I can ensure it is available for your session. Because there is such an array of sizes, clients must provide their own shoes and pants for their sessions. Mothers and children are generally photographed barefoot while dads are encouraged to wear complimentary dress socks and/or light brown, tan, or grey oxford or loafer style shoes. Once your session is officially booked, we will schedule an in-person wardrobe consultation where all of the details will be formalized.
Is hair and makeup services included?
Yes! Part of the stress-free experience with booking your session is taking away this burden for you. Let our glam squad of hair and makeup artists make you look like you’ve had the hours of sleep I know you’ve been missing. When will my photos be ready?
Your full gallery of images will be ready to be presented to you within two weeks. As time permits, I will post a sneak peek on my blog to share within a week of your session.
Do you offer mini sessions?
Yes. At this time, I only offer mini sessions one time per year and this is for our adorable Simply Santa Sessions. Santa and Mrs. Claus visit our studio in November and early December each year and it absolutely awesome. Simply Santa Session registration is offered to First Year Collective clients first, and reservations begin as early as July. Depending on what is left, remaining spots open to the public in August and often sell out quickly.
What if my baby is already more than 14 days old?
My newborn sessions are designed for infants 12 weeks and younger. Typically, newborn sessions are best for babies between 7-14 days young but that doesn’t mean we cannot accomplish beautiful images for babies a few days or even weeks older. During these first couple of weeks of life, babies are extra “squishy” and most importantly, sleepy. In order to secure session availability, it is strongly recommended that you book your newborn session during your last trimester or even sooner.
Do we need to bring props?
No. Over the years, my style has become more and more simplistic allowing me to really focus on the details of your new love. I begin each session with a baby swaddled and un-swaddled, using materials that I will provide. From there, we will move on to a simple prop or two, but nothing too busy to distract from the simplicity of our session. I have everything we will need to create a gorgeous gallery so there is really no need for you to bring anything to your session, other than having your baby dressed in a simple, white, onesie upon arrival to the studio.
What if my baby or children do not cooperate?
We all have our good and bad days and babies are no exception. On very few occasions I have rescheduled a newborn session for the following day to give a baby time to decompress and try the session again. I’m a mom and I totally, “get it”. If this happens, don’t be ashamed, embarrassed, or discouraged. Having photographed newborns for over 6 years, there are so many tricks I try, coupled with a copious amount of patience, to create a smooth newborn session. Together, we’ve got this.
Can we do portraits of our new baby and their older sibling?
Absolutely. I LOVE sibling shots but I forewarn every parent that they must pack a whole lot of patience and bribery treats. Photographing young siblings with a newborn can be a bit tricky and my primary goal is to keep your newborn safe. I will not force a small child to hold a newborn nor will I force them to stay still and this may result in not being able to create an image you had hoped. I strongly suggest having a plan for the sibling(s) to be dropped off before or picked up after their portion of the session. This will limit the amount of noise and distractions and most of all, prevent you from losing your patience.
When do we pay you?
The session retainer fee is due upon scheduling your session and your session is not considered booked until the session fee retainer is paid. This fee is non-refundable and does not include any digital images or products. Full payment for any digital images or product(s) is due at your Session Premiere/ordering appointment.
What type of payment do you accept and do you accept payment plans?
Cash, check or credit card are acceptable forms of payment. Payment plans are ABSOLUTELY accepted based on the Studio’s terms. For detailed payment plan information, please email to inquire.
How long will it take for me to receive my order?
Generally, orders are fulfilled within three to four weeks of purchase and can be personally delivered to your home.
Do you do refunds?
Due to the custom nature of any product order, refunds are not permitted. If you are unable to make your scheduled session, a one-time reschedule will be allowed, but your session fee will not be refunded.
