Little Miss. Madeleine made her surprise arrival 6 weeks early weighing just over 4 pounds at birth. Her daddy was on a fishing trip out of state but luckily made it back in town just in time to welcome his biggest catch yet into the world! I met this sweet little guppie when she was just 15 days new and even got to capture a few images with her mommy and grandmother. It was such a pleasure to work with this new family of three and I am so happy to share some of their images with you here.
Madeleine’s newborn portrait session was actually on the day of her mommy’s baby shower! While on a very special fly fishing trip to celebrate his 40th birthday out of state, Madeleine’s daddy received a phone call from her mommy telling him, “it’s time!”. Six weeks before her due date, Miss. Madeleine made her exciting entrance into the world and daddy all but moved mountains to get to witness her birth just in time! While in labor Madeleine’s sweet grandmother gave her mommy a strand of pearls to wear. She felt every woman should feel as glamorous as possible when they meet their newborn for the first time. With these two special background stories playing such a role in Madeleine’s birth story, we were able to include the same strand of pearls worn by her mommy while in labor as well as one of dad’s favorite fishing rods. Additionally, we were also able to photograph Miss. Madeleine with her Grandmother in a multi-generation portrait. I love when Grandmothers are a part of the portrait experience – I can only imagine the pure joy, pride, and elation a mother must feel when their grandchild enters the world and I love that I am able to capture this for families.
