It’s not very often I meet families with more than four children, in fact, most of my friends only have one or two children. The youngest of five of my mother’s children, for the most part, I grew up an only (and favorite – take that Claudia) child. The closest sibling in age to me is my sister, Claudia but she is nine years my senior. Once she moved out to attend college, it was just me and my mom in the house. I definitely learned to be independent and entertain myself, and never fought over toys so I’ve never really experienced sibling rivalry or anything of the sort. So, I’ve always wondered what it would be like to grow up in a huge family under one roof or even share a room with a sibling. This curiosity has never ceased. So, naturally, I am thrilled to have met the Bentleys and all SEVEN of their children when I went to their home to photograph their newest darling, Braelynn.
Friends, when I tell you their home is filled with love this is not an understatement. I was in awe at how well each child helped one another, followed direction, and honestly loved one another. Their love is immeasurable and they were all absolutely smitten with their little sister, Braelynn – even the youngest of the bunch, Olivia. She was all too happy to have been promoted to big sister after having been the baby for just over three years. I absolutely enjoyed my time getting to know each of family members and photographing Braelynn, who posed so beautifully for me, smiled immensely, and fluttered her lovely eyelashes over her gorgeous sky blue eyes. For being a five week old baby and definitely one of the biggest “newborns” I have photographed, she did so phenomenally well at sleeping through most of her session with me, so much so, I was able to get her posed into some of my favorite newborn poses. When she awoke, she didn’t fuss a bit. She just opened her wide eyes a smiled at me with her pink, cupid’s bow lips. Welcome to the bunch Braelynn. You are definitely welcome here.
What details will you want to remember when your baby is older? Her adorable pink lips, the tiny folds on her belly, or her long, dainty eyelashes?
