Danyel joined me in my portrait studio for the first half of her maternity photography session and later that December day for a gorgeous, desert, sunset session at Papago Park in Phoenix. It was abnormally frigid that 42-degree day as we had just experienced beautiful 80 degree weather the week before. Phoenix weather is funny like that sometimes. However, the desert after the rain makes for an incredible backdrop full of rich colors, robust clouds, and stunning sunsets. Despite the chill, each gentle gust of wind added the perfect touch to our session as it flowed through Danyel’s gorgeous hair and showcased the lovely, ivory gown she wore from my studio closet. I am enamored at how well Danyel posed while she stood wearing materials that were so delicate. I am so happy she was pleased with her images and felt the end product was absolutely worth a few minutes of cold. The warm glow of the sunlight behind Danyel illuminated her happiness and anticipation of awaiting her new baby boy.
Danyel looked absolutely stunning in the outfits she selected from my studio closet as well as in a few items she brought of her own. I have carefully selected gowns from my favorite vendors that design maternity gowns specifically for portrait sessions as well as a few beautifully feminine items from some of my favorite stores. These pieces are available for client use in the studio and on location and add a unique touch to your portrait experience.
I was so absolutely thrilled to have been joined by a my phenomenal friend, Bree Prince of JustB Photography in Thousand Oaks, California for this session. Bree is an award-winning Southern California photographer well versed in both natural light photography (which I shoot primarily) and studio light photography. She brought her lighting goodies with her on her recent 3-day trip to my studio and showed me “a thing or two” about the awesome capabilities studio lighting has to offer. It was pretty impressive to work with such exquisite equipment – especially in my own studio. I loved the images we were able to create and my interest in investing in strobe lighting is definitely increased. Thank you so much for the experience Bree. Below are some images from this day displaying both light variations of photography.
